Professor Jordan joined the Montana Tech
Department of Metallurgical and Mineral Processing
Engineering in 1982 after an exemplary career in the Mineral
Processing industry. Ted became the Center Director in 1992
and served in that post until 1994. In 1995 Ted was
recognized as professor emeritus by Montana Tech.
Jordan was born in Butte, MT, the son of
Stell and Doris Jordan. He received a B.S. from the Montana
School of Mines, now Montana Tech, in metallurgical
engineering in 1953. Upon graduation, he served four years
in the US Air Force as a meteorologist. He then returned to
Montana Tech, where he earned an M.S. in metallurgy in 1959.
He was an instructor in mineral processing from 1958 to
